Introduction

Optical mixing refers to the coupling of two or more strong monochromatic lights with different frequencies into a nonlinear medium at the same time through the coupling of two or higher nonlinear electric polarization coefficients of the medium, resulting in the phenomenon of producing optical sum-frequency and optical difference frequency light waves. Optical parametric oscillation refers to the nonlinear optical effect produced by multi-wave mixing. Optical parametric oscillation is a second-order nonlinear optical mixing process. Among them, the optical parametric amplification and oscillation of three-wave mixing have been studied the most and have been widely used in the generation of tunable lasers. This experiment allows students to master important knowledge in courses such as "Nonlinear Optics" and "Laser Principles". In addition, this experiment also uses a microchip laser and a TEC temperature control platform set for crystal adjustment, which is highly open and facilitates in-depth research on laser application technology.
