SUMMARY
YMP-6110 is for the university teaching of the Giant Magnetoresistance (GMR) Effect and its applications. GMR Effect is a phenomenon in which the resistivity of a magnetic material varies significantly in applied external magnetic fields ofdifferent magnitudes. It is a quantum mechanical effect arising from the thin magnetic film structure, in which thin layers ofalternating ferromagnetic and nonferromagnetic materials stack on top of each other. When the magnetic moments of theferromagnetic layers are parallel, the spin-related scattering of carriers is minimized, and the material resistance is minimal. When the magnetic moments are antiparallel, the material resistance is maximal. YMP-6110 contains four experimentalunits: the GMR basic characteristics unit, GMR sensor measuring current unit, GMR sensor measuring angular unit, andGMR sensor reading magnetic card unit.
