Summary
The YPM-8205-01 Integrating Sphere Detector, constructed from silicon material, covers a spectral range of 380nm to 1100nm and is capable of measuring power levels ranging from 100nW to 3W. This versatile detector offers two data acquisition options: a DB15 connection with a meter display and a USB connection for direct interfacing with a computer.
The YPM-8205-01-L model employs a DB15 interface that requires connection to a power meter for data reading, storage, and power monitoring. Additionally, a USB communication interface is available on the meter, allowing for expanded data collection from the detector. This interface enables data uploading to optical power measurement software on a PC, facilitating real-time data acquisition and analysis.
The YPM-8205-01-U detector utilizes USB communication, eliminating the need for separate meters and allowing direct connection to a computer for data acquisition. To enable real-time data collection, analysis, and power monitoring, optical power measurement software must be installed on the computer. Furthermore, the USB-type photodetector can be conveniently integrated into a multi-channel power acquisition system. By using a USB hub, data from multiple detectors can be collected and displayed simultaneously.
Digital communication
The detector completes the data acquisition and processing, and uses digital communication with the optical power meter head to reduce external interference.
Measurement of free-space light or optical fiber
The integrating sphere detector allows users to measure free-space light, as well as our fiber optic splice adapters (FC or SMA) or bare fiber clips to measure the laser transmitted over the fiber.
Calibration data
The calibration data for each detector is electronically stored and provided to the customer, along with a corresponding calibration report, at the time of shipment. This report details the detector's response to the spectrum within its designated wavelength range, with measurements taken at 10nm intervals. If an optional attenuator is included, an additional set of calibration data will also be stored electronically and documented in the report. We offer paid calibration services, and to maintain the accuracy of your measurements, we recommend calibrating the detector annually.
