Introduction
The pendulum used in this experiment is a physical pendulum. When the physical pendulum swings at a small angle, it approximates simple harmonic vibration. By constantly adjusting the angle between the pendulum and the vertical direction, the pendulum is allowed to oscillate at a small angle in the corresponding plane, which is equivalent to reducing the acceleration of gravity. During the experiment, the swing cycle time under different gravity acceleration conditions was obtained and compared with the theoretical value.
Experiments
a) Measure the cycle time of a physical pendulum swinging at a small angle.
b) Adjust the pendulum to different angles with the vertical direction and measure the cycle time of small angle swings respectively.
c) Compare the measured cycle time with the theoretical cycle time.
